All professional Bus and Truck drivers must have a Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (Driver CPC).
The purpose of Driver CPC is to maintain high standards of road safety, health and safety and driving among professional drivers of buses and trucks.
The Driver CPC theory tests are part of the Driver CPC process, which must be taken by all new professional drivers.
If you want to be a professional Bus or Truck driver you must pass the Driver CPC Theory Tests before you proceed to the driving and practical test.
The Driver CPC theory test consists of two parts;
• Multiple Choice Question
• Case Studies
The Multiple Choice Questions has 100 multiple choice questions and you need to answer 61 correctly to pass.
To prepare for your Truck or Bus Driver CPC Theory Test you should study the following publications;
• The Driver CPC Theory Test Booklet
• The Rules of the Road
• Driving Goods Vehicles – the official Driver Standards Agency (DSA) UK Guide
Or if you are doing the Bus Theory Test
• Driving Buses and Coaches – the official Driver Standards Agency (DSA) UK Guide
Also the RSA have approved Driver CPC Training Centres which will help you in passing the Driver CPC tests.
